Several Service Changes coming to the GO Network

Good Afternoon,

I’m writing to advise you about several service changes coming to the GO network.

Starting January 3rd, 2015 GO will be adding more train and bus trips and making some service adjustments to meet changing ridership demand. These changes will help provide more comfortable and convenient service for our customers across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).
The continued expansion of GO service is a top priority of Metrolinx’s Regional Transportation Plan, and through the development of the Regional Express Rail (RER) program, Metrolinx plans to continue enhancing and expanding GO services.

Service change highlights include:

  • New morning and afternoon train trips on Milton line with stops at every station
  • New bus trips will be in service on the Lakeshore West, Kitchener, Barrie, Stouffville, and Hwy 407 East/West corridors
  • Reinstated post-secondary school route service throughout the GTHA
  • Adjustment of schedule times to more closely reflect actual travel times for bus and train service along all corridors

Detailed train and bus service changes (including adjusted schedules) can be found on the GO Transit website here:

Please note, the Metrolinx Board of Directors will be considering a fare increase at its meeting this Thursday December 11th to ensure GO Transit can continue to expand services to meet increasing ridership demand, provide excellent customer service and manage increasing costs.

As always, our Stakeholder Relations team is available to you, and your staff, as a first point of contact with matters relating to Metrolinx or our Operating Divisions (GO Transit, UP Express, PRESTO) and program.
