Free admission to Toronto history museums today through November
From today to November 30, general admission to nine of the City's historic museums will be free courtesy of Mackenzie Investments in celebration of its 50th anniversary.
"I would like to thank Mackenzie Investments for providing this unique opportunity for the public to experience Toronto's history," said Mayor John Tory. "This generous donation will help residents and visitors learn about and engage with the city's past at our historic sites. It is another example of how partnerships can help enhance Toronto's programs and help us build a better city."

City of Toronto reminds all road users to take extra care on roads in residential neighbourhoods
The City of Toronto is reminding all road users – pedestrians, cyclists and drivers – to be more aware of each other, especially as we enter a season when daylight hours are greatly reduced.
To help remind the public to slow down and to be aware, the City of Toronto has produced two new Please Slow Down lawn signs that remind road users to drive carefully as they travel in local neighbourhoods with older adults (orange sign) and school children (blue sign). The new signs include graphics of older adults walking and two children playing. The public can help spread this safety message by picking up signs at their local councillor’s office and displaying them in their neighbourhoods.
Join us for a sneak peek of three of the spectacular new Line 1 Extension subway stations on Saturday, October 28 from 1 to 5 p.m.
• Pioneer Village Station, 2800 Steeles Ave. West
• Highway 407 Station, 7332 Jane Street
• Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station, 3150 Highway 7 West
At the Open Houses, you can tour the stations, meet with the construction teams, architects and artists that designed and built the stations, chat with staff from PRESTO, York Region Transit, Brampton Transit and TTC about service changes, and visit with other partners including BAI Canada, City of Vaughan and others.
Please feel free to contact me if you require additional information.
