Recreational opportunities offered by City of Toronto over the Easter long weekend
The City of Toronto will offer many fun activities at its recreational facilities and attractions, as well as at its historic sites, during the Easter long weekend.
Recreation programs and services will operate as usual on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16, but there will not be any recreation programs or permits at parks and recreation facilities on Friday, April 14 (Good Friday) and Monday, April 17 (Easter Monday) – with the exception of scheduled tournament or league play at indoor arenas. Residents can contact their local community and recreation centre or visit http://www.toronto.ca/parks for more information about individual facilities.

City of Toronto to Recognize Family Caregiver Day
Mayor John Tory will be joined by Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 10 York Centre), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee, Councillor Josh Matlow (Ward 22 St. Paul's), Toronto's Seniors Advocate, as well as partners VHA Home Healthcare, the Ontario Caregiver Coalition, the Toronto Seniors Forum, the ENRICHES Collaborative and other partner organizations to recognize and acknowledge caregivers who care for family and friends in need.

City Of Toronto to Commemorate Battle of Vimy Ridge Centennial Anniversary
The City of Toronto will honour the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge (VIMY 100 Toronto) at Fort York National Historic Site with a weekend of free events culminating in a commemorative ceremony on April 9 in collaboration with the Canadian Armed Forces.
At the April 9 ceremony, Mayor John Tory will be joined by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell; the Premier of Ontario, the Honourable Kathleen Wynne and other dignitaries.
