Sunday, September 13 will mark the 50-year anniversary of the official opening of Toronto City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square. The day will be marked by live entertainment on the square and exhibits in the City Hall rotunda from noon to 5 p.m. The event, free and open to all, will go ahead rain or shine.

The City of Toronto is conducting a review of the bylaws governing sidewalk cafés and marketing displays on the public right-of-way (sidewalks). The intent of the review is to harmonize the six different bylaws that currently regulate these activities as well as review permit fees.

Local residents invited to form Toronto’s first Planning Review Panel

Thousands of Torontonians will begin receiving letters in their mailboxes today inviting them to volunteer to join the City’s inaugural Planning Review Panel. Toronto’s City Planning Division is launching the Planning Review Panel, an innovative process that will empower 28 randomly-selected Toronto residents to learn about city planning and offer input on a wide range of city issues.
