Family Day Community Recreation

Celebrate Family Day with us! You can enjoy a variety of free outdoor and indoor activities at locations across Toronto on Monday, February 19.

City-run recreation facilities offer Family Day programming for the whole family. Activities include cooking, drumming and dance lessons, crafts and board games, and as well sports and family fitness classes. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all activities.

Leisure swimming will be available at many indoor pools on Family Day. City-run leisure swims are free of charge for everyone.

There are 52 outdoor rinks or skating trails to choose from across the city, weather permitting. Many indoor arenas will also be open. There is no charge for public skating at the City's indoor arenas and outdoor rinks.

In ward 17, Joseph J Piccininni Community Centre will be offering over 10 different program opportunities for all, between 11:00am and 4:00pm.

Registration for City of Toronto's winter swim and skate programs and March break camps starts this coming weekend

The City of Toronto offers a wide range of safe, fun and high-quality recreation programs for people of all ages, skill levels and interests. Registration for winter swim and skate programs and March break camps starts at 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 2 for Etobicoke York and Scarborough districts and Tuesday, December 5 for North York and Toronto and East York districts.

Registering online is the quickest and easiest way to sign up for programs. Over the past year, the City has worked to improve the registration experience by increasing server capacity by 25 per cent so that more people can access the system online. The City has also introduced clearer navigation and planning tools online, and has extended customer service hours and added more staff to provide in-person support.

Other districts follow, with registration opening on Sunday, September 10 for Scarborough; Tuesday, September 12 for North York; and Wednesday, September 13 for Toronto and East York.
