The City of Toronto began mailing the 2016 final property tax bills on May 17. All property owners should have received their bills by June 15. The final property tax bills are the second of two regular tax bills that are mailed each year.

The City of Toronto has launched a new web portal to educate residents about the risks of extreme weather and the actions they can take to help reduce those risks, weather-proof their homes and improve their resilience. 

With a focus on four weather scenarios – extreme heat, extreme rain/flooding, extreme cold, and extreme wind – the portal offers residents a single point of access for programs, services and resources from a variety of City divisions, agencies, corporations and external organizations.

As warmer weather arrives, Toronto Public Health is reminding residents to protect themselves against blacklegged tick bites and Lyme disease. The blacklegged tick (Ixodes scapularis) is the only type of tick in Ontario that can transmit the bacteria that causes Lyme disease.
