City of Toronto operations and services – what's open and closed on Remembrance Day

On Remembrance Day tomorrow, many City of Toronto operations and all municipal offices will be closed, while certain programs and attractions will be open. In addition, City services that regularly operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week such as 311 Toronto and emergency services will be available.

At its meeting of June 7, 2016, City Council adopted the report "The City of Toronto's long-term financial direction" with amendments. Cavalcade of Lights Event at Nathan Phillips Square on November 26 to Mark The Start Of Toronto's Holiday Season

The 50th annual Cavalcade of Lights presented by Great Gulf on Saturday, November 26 will mark the official start of the holiday season in Toronto.

This beloved Toronto tradition features the first lighting of Toronto's official 18-metre (60-foot) Christmas tree, sponsored by Hudson's Bay, along with live performances, a skating party and spectacular fireworks. This event brings thousands of people together in Nathan Phillips Square each year under the sparkle of more than 525,000 energy-efficient lights provided by Toronto Hydro.
