Streetcar service resumes between Gunns Loop and
St Clair West Station on September 4, 2016
Since mid-June the TTC has been co-ordinating various accessibility and infrastructure improvement projects inside St Clair and St Clair West stations, and along the St Clair streetcar route. Construction is required to prepare for the new, accessible streetcars, which are scheduled to begin operating on the St. Clair Avenue right-of-way in 2018.
The following is an overview of the projects on St. Clair Avenue and at St Clair West Station. Due to construction at St Clair West Station (and at St Clair Station), streetcars will be replaced with buses between St Clair West Station and St Clair Station.

The City of Toronto is encouraging residents to get ready for September community recreation registration days. Registration occurs over four days in September and includes fall recreation, skating and swim programs as well as ski and some winter recreation programs. This September, over 27,000 programs are available in 248 community centres, pools and arenas.

The City of Toronto today released the complete artistic program for the 11th edition of Nuit Blanche Toronto. From 6:58 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 until sunrise on Sunday, October 2, the streets of Toronto will be transformed by nearly 90 contemporary art projects created and presented by more than 300 local, national and international artists.  Heat Warning continues in Toronto, cooling centres open

Based on information from Environment Canada, Dr. Barbara Yaffe, Toronto’s Acting Medical Officer of Health, is continuing the Heat Warning until further notice. The City's cooling centres will remain open during this time.

During a Heat Warning, the public is encouraged to visit family, friends and neighbours, especially isolated adults and seniors who are at greater risk of suffering from heat-related illness, to make sure they are cool and drinking plenty of fluids. Other groups at risk include people with chronic illnesses, individuals with limited mobility or certain mental health illnesses, infants and young children, people on certain medications, and those who are homeless.

Call for Nominations

Nominations are now open for the office of Youth Councillor - All Wards - for the 2016-2018 term.

To be eligible to run in the October general election, candidates must:
· Live in the City of Toronto;
· Live or go to school in the ward you wish to seek election in;
· Be at least 14 years old as of January 1, 2017; and
· Be no older than 24 years old as of November 1, 2018.

Nominations may be submitted until Friday, October 14 at 11:59pm online at http://toronto.thecyc.ca/candidate-nomination
